Pricing

6 questions

Most garage door repairs range from $150 to $500, depending on the issue. Spring replacements typically start at $275, cable repairs around $150, and opener repairs vary by the problem. We provide a free estimate before any work begins — you always know the cost upfront.

New garage door installations typically range from $800 to $2,500+ depending on the door size, material, and insulation level. This includes removal of the old door, professional installation, all hardware, and a full safety test. We provide free on-site estimates with exact pricing.

No. We do not charge trip fees, diagnostic fees, or service call charges. We provide free estimates — you only pay for the actual repair work once you approve the quote.

No. We do not charge emergency surcharges or rush fees. Same-day service is included at no extra cost. You get the same fair pricing whether your repair is scheduled or urgent.

For larger installations (new doors, full opener systems), we can discuss payment options. For most repairs, payment is due upon completion. We accept all major credit cards, cash, and checks, so you have flexibility on how you pay.

The main factors are: the type of repair needed (springs, cables, opener, etc.), the parts required, the size and weight of your door, and whether single or double springs are needed. We always explain the full breakdown before starting work.

Emergency

5 questions

Emergencies include: door stuck open (security risk), door won't close, broken spring making the door inoperable, car trapped inside, door off its tracks and unstable, or any situation where you can't secure your home or vehicle.

We prioritize emergency calls and aim to respond within hours during business hours. When you call, we'll give you an estimated arrival time and keep you updated. Same-day emergency service is our standard — not an upsell.

No. Our diagnostic and labor rates are the same for emergency and regular service during business hours. We're here to help you in a tough situation, not to take advantage of it.

Don't try to force it closed manually if it's spring-related — that's dangerous. If the opener is the issue, you can try disconnecting it via the red emergency cord and carefully lower the door by hand (with help). If it won't budge safely, call us. We can typically get there same-day. In the meantime, move valuables out of sight and consider staying home until we arrive.

Most garage doors have a manual emergency release (the red cord hanging from the track). Pulling it disengages the opener so you can lift the door manually. If the springs are broken, the door may be very heavy — get help or wait for us rather than risk injury.

Installation

6 questions

A typical single-car door installation takes 3–4 hours. A double-car door usually takes 4–5 hours. This includes removing and disposing of your old door, installing the new one, setting up or reconnecting the opener, and testing all safety features.

It depends on your priorities. Steel doors offer the best durability-to-cost ratio and low maintenance. Insulated steel doors add energy efficiency and noise reduction. Wood or wood-composite doors offer a premium look but require more maintenance. Carriage-house style doors (available in steel or fiberglass) are popular for curb appeal. We'll walk you through options during the free estimate.

The four main types are: chain drive (affordable, durable, louder), belt drive (quiet, smooth, ideal for attached garages near living spaces), screw drive (low maintenance, works well in stable climates), and direct drive (quietest option, one moving part). We also carry smart-enabled openers that connect to your phone via an app.

Yes, removal and disposal of your old garage door is included in our installation service at no extra charge.

Absolutely. Insulated doors (R-9 to R-18) make a real difference if your garage is attached to your home — they help moderate temperatures, reduce noise, and lower energy bills. Even in detached garages, insulation protects stored items from extreme heat and cold. We offer a range of insulated options from reputable brands.

We install doors from all major manufacturers including Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, and Overhead Door. We can source most styles and sizes. During your free estimate, we'll show you options that fit your home's style and your budget.

Maintenance

7 questions

We recommend an annual maintenance visit for most homeowners. If you use your door 4+ times daily (common with busy households), twice-yearly service is a smart investment. Regular maintenance catches worn parts before they fail and keeps your door running safely.

Standard torsion springs are rated for about 10,000 cycles (one open + one close = one cycle). At 4 uses per day, that's roughly 7 years. We install high-cycle springs rated for 25,000+ cycles, which can double or triple their lifespan. When you replace springs, upgrading to high-cycle is worth it.

Warning signs include: the door feels heavier than usual when lifting manually, it doesn't stay up when opened partway, you hear loud creaking or popping, or the door moves unevenly. Don't wait for a full break — a proactive spring replacement prevents an emergency call.

Noise is usually caused by worn rollers (especially plastic or worn steel ones), loose hardware (bolts and nuts vibrate over time), lack of lubrication on hinges and springs, or a worn out opener drive. Most noise issues can be fixed in a single maintenance visit with new rollers, lubrication, and hardware tightening.

This is almost always a safety sensor issue. The two sensors at the bottom of your door tracks need to be aligned and free of obstruction. Check that nothing is blocking the beam and that both sensor lights are solid (not blinking). If realigning them doesn't fix it, give us a call — it's usually a quick fix.

A few things you can do yourself: lubricate hinges, rollers, and springs with a dedicated garage door lubricant (not WD-40) twice a year; keep the tracks clean and free of debris; test the auto-reverse safety feature monthly by placing a 2x4 flat on the ground and closing the door — it should reverse on contact. Call us for anything involving springs or cables.

If you see daylight around the edges of your closed door, feel drafts, notice water intrusion, or find pests getting in, the weatherstripping needs replacement. Bottom seals typically last 5–10 years depending on use and climate. New weatherstripping improves energy efficiency, keeps out dust and water, and can be replaced quickly during a service call.
